The Viking Peregrine ED is the latest high performance binocular ideally suited for bird watching and wildlife. The Peregrine series of Binoculars features Viking’s high-quality Extra-Low Dispersion glass in the lenses, and is supplied with rainguard, case, and strap.

Extra Low Dispersion Glass

The objective lenses of the Viking Peregrine ED are made from Extra Low Dispersion Glass, which provide much sharper and clearer images than ordinary binoculars. Together with the multi-coating and phase coated prisms give bright images in excellent clarity that make these the perfect companion for your next bird watching outing.

Ideal for all weather

As with all of Viking’s premium binoculars the Peregrine series are nitrogen filled to eliminate the chance of the glass fogging up and from other impurities such as dust and keeps them clean from the inside. The Viking Peregrine Binoculars are also waterproof so can withstand the inevitable downpour when bird watching in the UK.

10 year guarantee

The build quality of Viking Optical Binoculars is truly exceptional and the Peregrine ED is finished in a smooth rubber armour that is extremely comfortable to hold. They also boast a 10-year guarantee for added peace of mind and are highly rated by users for their long-term durability.

Superb optics 8x32

I'm seriously impressed with these 8x32 binoculars. They are surprisingly bright and clear for a small optic.
Incredibly sharp and very little colour fringing if any on most objects.
With a massive 8.4 deg field of view they are super wide and very light as well. For the price I cannot fault them. Highly recommend.

High quality binoculars

I bought these after reading a review in the Independent - it was rated as their Best Buy. After reading some further reviews online I decided to order them despite being at the top-end of the budget I had in mind. Overall, I'm very pleased with them as they feel very well constructed, image quality is excellent and I'm happy that they will last for many years to come. Haven't ordered from ligo before but would have no qualms about doing so again - friendly and efficient service!

Very good indeed!

These are excellent optically, very well made, and with something to satisfy both birders and bug-watchers with decent close focus spec (their lightness makes them easy to take on a hike).

+ Optics - the image is sharp and bright, maintaining brightness most of the way to the edge, and performing well in low light conditions.
+ Weight - they feel solid but are light enough to make them easy to take on a hike
+ Robust - the rubber armour is good with nice grip to it and decent warranty
+ 20mm eye relief - very impressive
+ Focus mechanism - wheel turns very smoothly and just stiffly enough to make focusing precise and easy.
+ Chromatic aberration - negligible

- There's not much to complain about really - the accessories are a bit basic for binoculars at this price
- The focus ring might have benefited from deeper ridges for extra grip while wearing gloves

Would recommend

These binoculars look and feel like a quality product, and thankfully have the optics to back it up too! Purchased primarily for watching wildlife in on local walks and in the garden, and the image quality is very clear. Easy to use, comfortable in the hand, and very robust so would definitely recommend.

Best binoculars for bird watching

I bought these after reading a review in the Independent - it was their Best Buy pick for bird watching. I hadn't heard of Viking before but after some further research and reading some more online reviews I decided to take a chance and haven't been disappointed! I opted for the 8x42 so can't attest to the others but the optics are very good. Larger 42mm lens copes well with low-light of early morning. There is a nice solid weight to them but they are well balanced comfortable to wear around the neck. Price and service from ligo was excellent - would highly recommend!
