Excellent compact monocular

This is a really nice unit to have in your pocket, ready for anything that might come along. The rotating out eye relief is a bit ramshackle but apart from that, the optics are excellent and the whole thing just works.

very compact

The Hawke Endurance ED 8x25 monocular is incredibly lightweight and compact, making it easy to pack for trips. However, the protective case is bulky, and the rubber armouring is somewhat thin. The lens caps don't attach securely - only the objective lens cap is tethered. On the plus side, there's no visible chromatic aberration, and the field of view is sharp throughout, even at the edges. It's worth noting that the advertised minimum focusing distance of 2m is not accurate - it's closer to 5m.
