Sporting a retro design harking back to the classic corded landline phone introduced by Henry Dreyfuss in 1937, the Series 302 is a novelty phone from Wild and Wolf. As faithful as possible to the original design, the Series 302 features a bell ringer in the base of the unit and a sturdy plastic housing. With a rugged construction hiding modern technology within, the Series 302 has a stylish dark red finish.
The original Series 302 telephone featured a rotary dialler whereby you would have to turn the dial towards the numbers displayed, and it took a lot longer to dial a number. However, while this modern phone keeps its retro appearance, you can actually push the buttons to dial numbers just as quickly and easily as you can with any other landline phone. There is also a redial button for quickly redialling the last phone number that called you, and there is a switch to turn the ringer on or off or change it between a pulse and a tone.
When Henry Dreyfuss first invented the Series 302 design, he used ear to mouth measurements from some 2000 people to come up with the most ergonomic handset possible.
