Offering a step up from the smaller Retro Mini, the VQ Hepburn II is another outstanding offering from one of the UK’s most popular DAB radio manufacturers. With full stereo sound from a pair of powerful speakers, it’s sure to impress even the most discerning audiophiles. What’s more, the Hepburn looks as good as it sounds, with a sophisticated vintage-style leatherette casing available in a huge range of colours and patterns. It even includes Bluetooth connectivity to connect up your phone or tablet and take charge of the music yourself. In short, it offers everything you could ask for, making it the ideal DAB radio.
As the perfect blend of retro and modern, it’s hard to beat the VQ Hepburn II. Wrapped in a stylish leatherette casing, it undoubtedly looks the part. Even better, there are so many different colours and styles to choose from. Whatever your tastes, you can be sure that the Hepburn will fit in beautifully with its surroundings.
Despite its small size, the Hepburn II packs a powerful punch. With twin 10W speaker drivers, its output is more than enough to comfortably fill your living room. Using Balanced Mode Radiator technology, sound reproduction is nothing short of superb across an enormous range of music. Whether you’re rocking out or enjoying some smooth beats, the VQ Hepburn is the perfect companion.
Not only can the VQ Hepburn II tune in to DAB and FM radio, but it also supports a wide range of connectivity options. Most significantly, it comes with Bluetooth functionality built-in. That means you can quickly hook up your smartphone or tablet hassle-free, and enjoy all your favourite audio content. All major streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer will work seamlessly, as will any locally stored files. The same thing goes for podcasts, as you can instantly start listening with just the touch of a button. Finally, if you’d rather use the Hepburn’s impressive speaker system for wired devices, then the 3.5mm AUX port has you covered.
Not only is the VQ Hepburn II ideal for home use, but it’s also a great choice for listening on the move. With the optional battery pack (sold separately), you can enjoy up to 25 hours of use from a single charge. That’s plenty of listening time for even long trips, and also makes the Hepburn ideal for the garden during the summer.

Bought the Hepburn because I wanted a radio that I could take out into the garden with me but also use in the house when the weather is rubbish. Seemed to offer the best of both and although it was a little bit more money than I’d planned to spend I went with it.
I understand that there was an older model- this one is labelled “Mark 2”. Older one seems to have got a bit of stick from reviewers but I haven’t had any of the problems they did- must have fixed everything with this one! I've already had a lot of use out of it and I'm glad that I made the right decision with my purchase.
+Sounds great, very rich and can be turned up loud without getting crackly
+Love how it looks!
+Super portable, lightweight without compromising on sound
+Acts as a bluetooth speaker as well. This was what made me willing to spend a bit more on the Hepburn
-Battery pack comes separate- it’s clearly designed to be portable so would make sense if it had a built in battery
Other than that there’s not really any downsides to this radio. It does everything I want it to and saves on having a separate radio and bluetooth speaker. I would happily recommend the Hepburn. Ligo were very helpful as well and the delivery was very quick.

This was a great buy. Needed a new kitchen radio and wanted something that had bluetooth as well to reduce the amount of extra speakers we had floating about the house. The sound is excellent, the reception seems to be better than the radio it replaced (an ancient Pure) and love the way it looks. Very happy and would recommend!

This sounds very good with impressive clarity from DAB, bluetooth or via the aux input. Tuning both DAB and FM is very straightforward unlike some other machines like this I have tried. Bluetooth pairing is similarly painless. The sound fills the room (with the volume cranked up a bit) in a way that you could easily mistake for speakers at least double its size in the room somewhere. For such a compact unit the sound really is quite impressive. I had been considering the equivalent from Roberts, which is £80 more expensive and so glad that I opted for this in the end.
I would say that the only downside is setting the alarm. Press this, twice, turn the knob in just the right way, press again..., no, it's timed out, you messed it up and you have to start again. Repeat. Then repeat again. I gave up in the end...

A superb radio. I'm very impressed with the sound quality, which is much better than my previous Pure Evoke radio. The reception is very reliable as well. My only issue is the android app, which I haven't been able to get to work with the radio yet.

We have the Hepburn on all the time in the kitchen. I use it both for listening to the radio and streaming via bluetooth. Fairly solidly built and has a nice well rounded sound. I wasn't expecting incredible sound from just a kitchen radio but the bass and treble are both very good. Holds a decent connection to bluetooth devices, even if the device is in another room. I had a bit of trouble getting it set up at first because the instructions aren't very clear, but after a phone call to Ligo they helped me to sort things out.
