These things are suppose to have a long range. Well, they don't. They're slow to respond to button presses and it's very easy to inadvertently re-dial the previous number. They're plastic-y and don't seem to be any more rugged than many other much cheaper phones. The user interface is clumsy and non-intuitive, inasmuch as it seems to differ, for no obvious good reason, from other phones I've had. Like many pieces of newer electronics, style seems to take precedence over ease of use and function.
In short, I think they are a complete waste of money. The only good points I can think of are the torch function and the little clock display. But even these, meh. I've never used the torch yet, and the clock isn't automatically time-corrected, so you can't necessarily trust it. I really don't know why other reviewers are so optimistic. I can only assume that they are all from the planet Zarg, and these are the first phones they've ever seen.
You can probably guess that I wouldn't recommend that you waste your money on these things, but if you're determined to, then I suggest you buy the multiple handset option. Keep one in reserve, and this will ensure that you can still make calls after you've frustratedly hurled the rest into the garden.
