My experience is entirely contrary to comments made elsewhere. On attempting to set up the phone after connecting the wires and charging the batteries, I inserted the date as per the guidelines. The next step was to set the time, which I did. The word "appointment" was shown on the screen. I mader several attempts to proceed without any success. There was nothing in the guide booklet to help or from Gigaset 's on line assistance. Ligo's T&Cs staed a 20% charge would be applied on returns where the wires had been unravelled or batteries charged. I returned the phone to Ligo (first class postage £4.50). In my reply I asked how could the phone be checked without unravelling wires and charging the batteries ? I pointed out also that I had bought the phone on the strength of its advertised features, not merely to look at it. I asked for the phone to checked for a fault. Ligo made no comment other than to ask whether I wanted an exchange or refund. I chose the refund. Without any reference to me comments, Ligo refunded £30.88 listing reductions of Adjustment charge £9.60; delivery £2.99 and VAT ! £7.50.
Anyone who is thinking of buying this phone or dealing with Ligo, should accordingly be absolutely certain as a return could cost up to £20.00 !
