    A good phone

Arrived promptly and was easy enough to set up. The phone has some very useful features for older people. I chose this model because it was recommended to me by ligo because of the big buttons and volume. My only complaint is that the instructions booklet is too long and complicated. The staff at ligo have been very kind and patient though and have helped me with some extra features. Thank you

    Gigaset e550a trio

I’ve had the Gigaset E550A trio for several days and am pleased with it. It was easy system to set up, the handsets have a very clear display, and I like the time being displayed on screen when on the charger. They can be set to show the time (and date if required) even when not on the charger. The phone sound quality is fine and this can be increased by a button on the side of the handset (although I haven’t needed to use this). The display shows up to 16 characters for a name – I could do with a few more characters in some cases.nI like being able to listen to messages from the base unit, without using a handset – this was a feature I wanted. The handsets are nice to hold and feel quite solid without being too heavy or too light. The menus to adjust the settings are fairly intuitive after a few attempts. The volume levels have a good range of adjustments. There is a good selection of ring tones and the handset paging is useful. The printed manual is reasonably well explained (and can also be downloaded as a pdf from the Gigaset website). nMy previous phone was a Panasonic and I could not find a way of transferring my list of phone numbers from that to the new Gigaset, so I had to enter them by hand; I was then able to send them to the other handsets. My old phone did keep a list of several recent incoming call numbers; the Gigaset only keeps a list of 25 missed calls, rather than all incoming calls, although this is not really a significant problem. The four buttons (A,B,C,D) for direct dialling are a useful feature although I have not yet set them up. The torch on each handset is an interesting feature which will be useful occasionally.n

    Excellent sound

I've had lots of cordless landline phones over the years and this is by far my favourite. The sound is good, its easy to use, inoffensive to look at and has good battery life.
