Two-way radios are an essential piece of kit for so many different businesses. They allow your team to keep in contact quickly and effectively, without the costs associated with mobile phones. License-free radios are ready to go right out of the box, and you can easily expand your setup as and when you need them.
As such, business owners will want to make right decision when choosing a new set of two-way radios. But with so many options on the market, how can you be sure that you are choosing a reliable model? Luckily, that's where the liGo team are here to help.
All the models below come from Motorola, simply because they offer the best build quality and most reliable range of all two-way radio manufacturers. So, read on to discover our top picks!
First up, we have the Motorola TALKABOUT T82. One of the brand's more recent models, the T82 is the most advanced handset in the TALKABOUT range. That means it comes loaded with features that make it an ideal choice for business users. For one thing, it boasts a remarkably long range of up to 10km. Of course, this is only the maximum range, and all manner of factors can affect this figure. It's unlikely that you'll get anything close to this number, but the Motorola T82 is still a solid performer that can cover more ground than most two-way radios.
What's more, the T82 is also quite a tough walkie talkie. With an IPx4 rating, it's weatherproof. That makes the T82 a great pick if you need a two-way radio for outdoor use. It also includes VOX functionality, so you can use it hands-free, and detachable belt clips for the same purpose. There are even some handy extra features such as a built-in torch and a vibrating alert for incoming transmissions.
If you work in a demanding environment, then you'll need a two-way radio that can cope. Luckily, the Motorola TLKR T92 is just such a model. Not only is it rated IP67- meaning it's completely weatherproof- but it also floats. When it hits the water, the torch on top of the radio automatically turns on so that you can spot the handset.
On paper, the Motorola TLKR T92 boasts the same range as the T82- up to 10km. During our in-house tests, though, we found that the T92 performed slightly better than its sister model. If you need a little extra range, then this model could therefore be a solid choice. It also comes with a few more additional features, including a built-in whistle inside the belt clips.
Of course, those extras do mean that the TLKR T92 is a bit more expensive than the T82. However, if you need a two-way radio that can handle anything lie might throw at it, then the T92 is well worth the extra cost.
Of course, not every business will need a set of feature-packed two-way radios. For some, a simple, reliable model will be more than enough to meet their needs. That's where the Motorola TLKR T60 comes in. With up to 8km range, it should offer more than enough for most business users, particularly if you are working in a warehouse or similar environment. While it doesn't come with as many features as the previous two entries on our list, it is still a great pick- and what's more, it comes in at a significantly lower price.
There are plenty of reasons why the T60s stand up in their own right, too. For one thing, they are remarkably lightweight for such sturdy handsets- each one weight just 103 grams. This means they can easily be carried around without getting in the way- especially since they come with detachable belt clips. They also include VOX for hands-free use as well, giving you even better value for money.
If you're looking for a reliable set of two-way radios for your business, then you have plenty of solid options. If you're looking for a great all-rounder, then we would definitely recommend the Motorola TALKABOUT T82. On the other hand, if you need something that can cope with demanding environments, then the TLKR T92 comes with an IP67 rating and an array of features which make it the ideal choice.
