Welcome back to What We're Listening To! Let's get right into it with four musical selections brought to you from our authors.

Craig's Pick: Sithu Aye - “Baryon”

Combining hair-raising electronica with brilliant guitar work and heavy metal mastery, Sithu Aye creates a highly original and driving instrumental sound which rips me out of any drudgery from the first few notes.

“Baryon” opens up with an almost-unbelievable sound which hooked my ear from its first appearance, before dropping down into some masterful electric guitar complimented by a strong heavy metal rhythmic backing.

Adam's Pick: Imagine Dragons - “Radioactive”

OK so maybe I'm a little late to the party with this one, with an ear bug that Rolling Stone called 2012's “biggest rock hit of the year.” But I find myself drawn back again and again to the strains of “Radioactive,” which is a bit of a slow-tempo rock tune with some neat lyrics and a driving rhythm.

Daniela's Pick: Maroon 5 - “Animals”

“Animals” is a thumping, rollicking track rife with an engaging vocal line and some neat musical concepts. It's hook and unforgettable lyrics are sure to get stuck in my head every time I listen, but I return to this pulsating rhythm again and again.

Max's Pick: Polyphia - “Envision featuring Rick Graham”

Polyphia's tunes are a musical exploration based on the massive chops of its band members, which allows them to showcase some intense musical complexity but always round it off with an engaging rhythm and some head turning melodies. This particular track also includes a massively impressive showcase of shred by renown guitar wizard Rick Graham, rounding off “Envision” as a head-banging metal epic.

That's all folks! Hope you've broaden your musical horizons with a bit of help from our authors. Check out our last week's music choices too!
